‘I Worked At The Beach In Ghana To Take Care Of My Mum’ – Singer, Rema
Nigerian music sensation Rema has shared some insightful tales about his past growing up.
In an exclusive interview with Capital Xtra, Rema has revealed that he did all sorts of menial jobs in Ghana just to make ends meet.
According to the ‘beamer’ crooner, he worked at a beach whilst in Ghana to provide for himself and his mother.
“At some points, things got tough I had to man up. My past life has the same effect on my present being in the music and taking things forward, ” he narrated.
“I had to work hard because I lost my father and my brother and things were left only to me . So , I had to put things in place. I did a lots of job like working at a beach in Ghana .
“Hard work got me my this shape. At first , it was really hard for me, I cried and was really sad . When I got back to Nigeria I had to appreciate my mum for being strong so I had to get her a car. he added.
Naira Marley Submits Self To The Police For Disobeying Lagos Lockdown Order
Azeez Fashola, popularly called Naira Marley, is now in police custody, an official has said.
PREMIUM TIMES reported how the police ordered the popular musician to submit himself for questioning after he attended a birthday party despite the lockdown in Lagos.
Naira Marley was among the celebrities that attended the birthday of Abdulrasheed Bello, the husband of actress Funke Akindele.
Both the actress and her husband on Monday pleaded guilty to hosting the party despite the coronavirus lockdown.
They were sentenced to 14 days of community service and fined N100,000 each by a magistrate court in Ogba, Lagos.
The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Hakeem Odumosu, who confirmed that Naira Marley was in their custody, said he will also be charged to court.
Mr Odumosu said the police have launched a manhunt for the remaining persons who attended the party.

Nigerian popular afro-fusion star, Burna Boy asserts that giving back to his community in form of giveaways isn’t his job.
Burna Boy made this known on twitter while answering a fan who asked him to return home to help his community.
In his words he said,
“Even though I do my best for as many as I can (and I urge everyone who can to do the same), the fact that I do it does not mean it’s my job, That is the Government’s Job not mine. So don’t come here to advice me, advice your government and see if they answer you.”
